Robert Kennedy
received his formal art training at the Rhode Island School of Design
(1961) where he studied painting and illustration.
A native of Boston, Kennedy has gathered inspiration and experience
traveling throughout the Caribbean, Florida, Mexico, and the South
West with his sketchbook and watercolors. His crisp detailed pen
& ink drawings provide an historical record characteristic of
the waterfronts and neighborhoods, including a variety of popular
pubs and personalities of some of the most colorful areas of America.
Over the years,
Kennedy's meticulous and classic art, with his heartwarming flair,
has increased in popularity worldwide. Today, he is considered to
be one of the top selling graphic artists in America. (Screen Printing
Magazine: May, 1983).
Three brothers,
Ted, Joe and Pete, and three sisters, Kate, Sue and Pat, all play
a part in the family enterprise. In addition to selling Kennedy's
work, the clan operates a dozen studios and over 30 franchises from
Key West, Florida to Kennebunkport, Maine.
Bob Kennedy's
original works can be seen at Kennedy Gallery, Key West, and prints
of his work are available at all Kennedy Studios.
